book deal?

You all know about my giving up grains and the great results that I’ve achieved. I have written 36 posts about diet and health. While that isn’t even 1% of my total content, it is one of my top non-Mexico themes. However, I haven’t wanted to start preaching about it and drive you away.  I have been fooling around with writing a book regarding my personal journey towards health and fitness. I use the the phrase fooling around because while I have written an outline and some of the chapters, I haven’t buckled down and written the book.
Examining my motives, I realized that I just really want to get the word out. Like most people who discover a good thing, I feel the need to share it. So rather than writing a book, I am converting my cooking blog into a blog about Being Grain Free in the land of the Tortilla. I’m excited about the idea. Later, I may still write that book.
To start you off, I uploaded a short essay to the cooking blog.

  1. Carol, if you could up the healthy fats in the food that would help with the hunger issues.Unfortunately, I doubt that the guide lines would support putting butter on the kid’s veggies.

Krisla, I have come to the conclusion that high fat,low carb and moderate protein is the way to weight (and belly fat loss) and paleo is the way to healthy living. Though I struggle with the lack of legumes and dairy.

  2. This is exciting news Theresa…I’m so pleased you are moving ahead with this, & will look forward to reading your posts. I am one who has learned a lot from your postings on the diet front. I’m veering between Paleo and the Dukan Diet, which does seem to be working for me. But, I love the whole subject and keep writing about it!

  3. I agree about grains and especially carbs. When I am away from my job as a food service director I am not tempted to eat the carbs I do during the school year. I am too tempted by the pizza, soft pretzels and cookies. So in the summer I slim down. Fruits and veges and small amounts of protein are the thing. We have new regulations in the school lunch and breakfast program and I get crazy when parents and students say they are hungry because protein servings have been reduced. But if they ate the fruits and veges they would be fine. And I get upset when people blame Michele Obama. The truth is difficult to swollow…pardon the pun! Just write what you need!

  4. Lee,
I will get my staff right on it.
    regards,
    Theresa
