DoRe Meme

CancunCanuck did this meme, I read it, but didn’t notice my name at the bottom until just now. My friend, who commented using the cute name of Strawberry PJs, which is not a tribute to Strawberry Shortcake but rather what she was wearing plus her favorite fruit, but it’s still a cute name, very retro, even if it’s retro to my kid’s generation not ours, but hey, we didn’t have any cute dolls like that. It was Barbie and that was pretty much it, Barbie had different hair colours , you bought her outfits, and if you were lucky you had a Barbie townhouse.
Here goes the meme, and I promise you no more memes for at least a month, I declare April a meme free month!

What are your top 3 favorite foods?

Pizza, spaghetti with pesto,fried bananas
Do you have a screen name and what is it?
Hey! actually, I am lazy and use Theresa or Theresa in Merida for everything but maybe next time I will use Mango Shorty, you may be on to something,Strawberry PJs!
What was the last book you read and would you recommend it?
The last book I read was the 3rd in a Fantasy trilogy, the main character is a baker who finds that he has magical powers. Master and Fool ,the series is called the Book Of Words, it was a good read, I was not expecting it to be as good, I just wanted something light to read. I am now reading “The Grass Crown which is part of a series of seriously thick books about the Rome, by Colleen McCullough. I actually read the series before (the Sonoma County Library doesn’t have all of them, and MEL doesn’t have them all, but between the two libraries I have read the whole series) but we just finished watching Rome so I felt inspired to reread the series.
What was the last lie you told?
Besides the telling someone that I didn’t speak Spanish see below about the gummies

I like to walk, I used to like to ride horses, I like to go to baseball games, but mostly for the experience, I started going during high school with a girlfriend who is a huge Oakland A’s fan.
What was the last movie you watched and would you recommend it?
“Juego de Poder” with Tom Hanks, I think was originally called Charlie Wilson’s War. If you can see it for 35 pesos like we did, I would say see it, if you have to pay more than that, wait until it comes out in dvd and rent it, maybe.
List 3 things you can see outside of the nearest window.
I am up in Husband’s office and the nearest window that you can actually see through looks over the roof, plus it’s about four feet up,so I can only see the sky and the rain gutter from the upper roof. The window is more for ventilation. The other two windows are at floor level and have frosted glass in them, if I could see through them I would be looking down at the sidewalk.
Where was the last place you went?
We went for a walk this morning to the pharmacy and the main square. While we were downtown, I went to 4, yes, FOUR different locations of Mineralia looking for a particular Swarovski crystal to repair a pair of earrings. On the way home we stopped at Clinica Yucatan because we needed to have someone administer a shot. Doctors don’t give shots, they give you a prescription and you have your injector do it. We paid a nurse 20 pesos to administer the shot. So meds and shot were less than $13 usd!
What was the last thing you threw in the garbage/recycling?
An empty liter milk carton. There is no recycling here, so we only separate the compost from the inorganic stuff.
What are your top 3 favorite “good causes” or charities?
We give money to the beggars here, but only the ones who look like they can’t work, the woman with the huge tumor on her eye, etc
What was the last thing you did for someone else?
I heated up some food for Husband, I asked for someone’s card to give to a friend, who is looking for that item. Nothing too spectacular here. Oh, I very nobly ate the whole jar of gummies, so Husband wouldn’t be tempted.
Name 3 places you have never been that you want to visit.
Chichen Itza, Spain, I’d like to go to outer space and visit the moon and Mars
Name 3 things on your bedside table.
The Grass Crown, a lamp (not a delicate little boudoir lamp,a lamp to read by), things to tie or control my hair ( several hair ties, a pair of hair combs, one of those banana clips, a barrette or two. I forget to take them off until I lay my head upon the pillow so they all eventually end up on the nightstand), and lastly, a box of tissues.
Describe or name the last piece of art you looked at.
The Macay sponsors a sculpture exhibition on Paseo Montejo, for some reason the fruit crates stacked to make a giant (like 18 feet tall by 18 feet wide) hollow box and painted soft colours that is on the corner across the street from Walmart sticks in my head. There is another one that looks like a house that fell from a crane a little further down the road.
What are the top 3 things that your job requires you to think about?
I don’t really have a job, but as a blogger, I need to think about interesting things to write about, and how to get my point across well.

Does it count that they were playing music in Santa Ana this morning? The guys on the stage in front of the Government building were doing a puppet show. Other than that sort of stuff, I can’t remember.
