Let’s all boycott daylight savings time!

Tomorrow starts daylight savings time in Mexico. In 2013 the USA lost 433,982,548 dollars in lost productivity due to this abominable practice according to this article. Let’s all do our internal clocks a favor and boycott daylight savings time!

Yes, I am calling for a grassroots boycott of daylight savings time! Go ahead and sleep in, arrive late for your appointments. Do your circadian rhythm a favor and boycott daylight savings time. Write your congressman, senator, or other representative, tell them NO! No more messing with the clock!

I just remembered that it’s Spring Forward- Fall back.  However, I still hold to my original idea and want the whole changing the clock thing to stop!

  1. OK. Don’t read this comment for another hour, (actually, make it two; I’m in Boston) and we’ll be on the same page.

Where the only thing worse than daylight savings time is the fact that the USA does it at different dates than the rest of the world.

    • Hi Kim,
      done.
I have been having a heck of a time with this time change. Hates it we does. Though it cracks me up that Cancun is permanently on it, so the tourists have one more hour of daylight?? what the bleep?

      regards,
      Theresa

      • Cancún is on permanent daylight savings time? I never knew. Is this something new? I went to Cancún in 1999 where I broke up with my then BF. We also went to Mérida, but didn’t notice a time change.

  2. I am with you on the boycott. Unfortunately, I do not want to miss Easter service. So, I will be one of the sheople.

    • Steve,
Since it’s probably sunrise service, you don’t need to worry about the time, just the sun? What a crummy day to do it too! I hate to think of all the people who will mess up going to church, or start a glorious day off on the wrong foot because of an arbitrary time change.

      regards,
      Theresa

  3. I did! I moved to Arizona! The only state in the Union that showed any common sense over the matter! ;>)

Another important point is the number of accidents goes up on and off the job. I could rant for hours on the subject but I will hush now.

    • Judy,
I lived in Phoenix, I really like Arizona. Beautiful state.

I seldom rant, but heck, it’s my blog. You’d think Congress could get it together to abolish this silliness, I can’t think of a single reason to keep it, besides tradition.

      regards,
      Theresa
