Surprise! We’ve moved!

Welcome to the new blog! The old address will bring you here from now on, but you may want to change your bookmark to speed things up.

Look around your favorite posts are still here. Questions? Suggestions? I am off to INM to apply for my permanent visa today. I have several new posts in the hopper.

There is a little hiccup in the site right now. For some reason the featured posts aren’t displaying correctly, do not despair, it will be fixed soon. Beyond the white space the latest articles in each of my main categories;

  • Creativity and DIY projects, where you will find crafts, decorating, gardening, paintings, pennings, and sewing
  • Health and Nutrition, where you’ll find my recipes and articles about food
  • Various and Sundry, this is the place for posts about Blogs and blogging, Living in Mexico, and Travel.

I also have a wide variety of tags so you can easily find posts on your favorite topic. Not every subject has it’s own category, for instance Mr. Dog’s stories but I think I’ve got the tags covered.

Don’t forget to change your bookmarks to thediypage.com and Subscribe in a reader .

regards,

Theresa

  1. Um….this is my first visit to your new site. Not sure how to navigate it? What’s the latest post? Or? Hmmmm. I’m not at all (at all) a tech person, so maybe it’s me. But it doesn’t seem to have the warmth and personality of your old site. Oh I know – YOU are the warmth and personality. But I’ve yet to find you on here.

    I’ll keep looking….

    • Hi Barbara,
The latest post is under recent posts. In featured posts, I have things that I want to bring to my readers attention, right now the I’ve got the post about changing my blog and my Mr. Dog eulogies in featured but that will change.

At the bottom of the home page there are three rows where the latest posts for each of the main category go. Those categories are;Creativity and DIY projects, where you will find crafts, decorating, gardening, paintings, pennings, and sewing; Health and Nutrition, where you’ll find my recipes and articles about food;Various and Sundry, this is the place for posts about Blogs and blogging, Living in Mexico, and Travel. I also have a wide variety of tags so you can easily find posts on your favorite topic. Not every subject has it’s own category, for instance the Mr. Dog’s stories. That way, if you don’t care about my crafts projects but are really only interested in Living in Mexico or my food posts you can look there and avoid the other stuff. My hopes are that all my writing will be of interest to everyone, but that isn’t always the case.

I also added a feature that generates related posts. There are over 800 posts on this blog and this gives people a chance to read something that maybe they missed the first time around.

You aren’t the only person who likes things to stay the same, that’s normal, we get into routines and change can be jarring. Change is not always easy, I know it’s hard for me when my favorite store changes it’s layout and I can’t just zoom to what I want. However, sometimes I notice something new and interesting that otherwise I would have missed, that is my hope here.

Don’t worry, I haven’t changed! Yeah, I’m the same Theresa, just wearing new clothes.

      regards,
      Theresa

  3. Theresa,

    Congratulations!
    It looks very professional.

  4. Sir William,
It was frigging amazing. The trick is to have your letter say that you are applying based on having been here over 4 years legally. I have never had it go so fast with so little paperwork, solicitud, carta and copy of first page of passport. We did bring in our apostilled marriage cert but didn’t need it. We did need to show them the past copies of our renewals since the computer only credited us for 2 of the last 9 years. TIM so of course your mileage may vary.

    regards,
    Theresa

  5. Well done Theresita!

I am also in the process of applying for the permanent resident thing after 25 years of annual visits where I have followed the careers of many of the INM folks, some nice, some indifferent, all interesting.

Let me know how yours comes along!

  6. Welcome to WordPress! Somehow, I lost track of your old blog, but now you are added to my reader. =)

  7. Hi Theresa,

Congratulations on your new format. As always, look forward to reading your news and views.

    Many good wishes,
    Phyllis
