So far averaging one post a day!

Averaging my posts, I can claim that I have still posted daily on average this go round. But the truth is that I post twice one day and not at all on another. It’s okay, I am sure I didn’t lose readership over it. Speaking of readership, I have been tracking my blog since November 10, 2008. Since then I have had 33,251 unique visitors out of 102,924 visits. According to my stats this blog averages 93.99 visits a day since I started keeping track. What does that mean? I really don’t know. I do know that around 60% of my readers have returned more than once, they’ve given me a second chance. Thank you, I appreciate it. My blogging certainly has changed since my first post, I like to think my writing has improved since then. However, when I check to see the most popular post I’ve ever written Photos from Allbrook Mall still holds that honor. Expo de ...

New stuff

Last week we reported to INM for our  appointment. As usual we arrived early, checked in with the guard. When our number was called we received our chits and were ushered into the inner sanctum. When our turn came we handed over our  photo and the sheet of paper with our ID numbers. She asked us  if we had our receipts for fee payment. I explained that we hadn’t gotten voucher sheets yet. We answered a questianaire regarding religion, education and family status put our thumbprints on sheet of paper. While we were paying  our  fees our FM2s were being laminated. By 11 am we left, new visas in hand. Another new thing in my life  is a netbook. I picked out an ACER 10.1 inch netbook. It’s taking me awhile to get used to. For some reason the cursor seems to have a life of it’s own. I will be happily typing away, all of a sudden I find that I am inserting ...

Theresa’s Cooking Blog RIP

I just imported all my posts and comments from the cooking blog to this one. I am going to delete the cooking blog. It just stopped being fun. Cooking is part of what I do all day, no different than sewing or gardening or anything else. I am hoping that by no longer feeling that burden to publish on two blogs, I will publish more on this one!If you search the labels you can find links to the recipes etc.

The finish line is in sight!

I’ve done it! I wrote a blog post every single day in June! It wasn’t that hard. I am going to continue in July with semi-daily blogs. What does semi-daily mean? It means that if something comes up I might not post, but it has to be something important. My writing mojo hasn’t dried up yet! The street however is as dry as possible. I took the photo through the screen which is why there is an interesting squared off effect. Meanwhile, some gardening photos. No bell peppers or Swiss chard yet, that stuff you see on the surface is from the lantana and the coral vine. Here however are some seedlings! Basil, mustard, nasturium, cilantro and some onion roots that I planted. It’s all pretty crowded but I plant on thinning it soon. I was concerned with the viability of some of the seeds since I had bought them so long ago. This is the grape vine. After three ...

Wow, look at all those posts!

In honor of my daily blogging goal for June, I just added a new widget to my sidebar. It shows the titles of all my blog posts for the last 30 days. There is an option to also display a summary of the post, but I opted against that as taking up way too much space. I am back on track on my mood again. Thanks to everyone who wrote to tell me, I was just over reacting (not that you said that, you all are much more supportive and kind to say that!). I also want to tell you that Barbara’s tip about the Bounce sheets works! Thank you so much! We have Bounce sheets clothes pinned to the hammocks and it seems to be working! Yay! I really didn’t want to buy a hammock mosquito net. This morning I went over my seed collection and planted all the herb seeds that I had, apparently I have seeds from ...

I surrender

I give up, obviously I am unable to communicate in English.I thought that I said that I was wrong to get irritated, I thought that I said that maybe it was hard enough learning a new language and remembering the gender was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.Apparently, I didn’t say that. Many people have written to tell me that I have insulted them, that they will never speak to me again…damn…maybe I shouldn’t blog anymore

Jello shots or photos of geletina

Jennifer Rose thinks that I should post about geletina.(The photo above is of geletina mosaico, but if you do a search of geletina artísticos you will find even more um, interesting variations.) I have successfully avoided eating any geletina in all it’s myriad incarnations since I moved here. So I don’t have any strong opinions on it, or perhaps not indulging expresses my position eloquently. When my kids were little I would sometimes make Jello for them, I occasionally tried to make Jello Jigglers too. I’ve never had a Jello shot. When I was a kid, my mom gave us jello water to drink when we were sick. I like that, especially the red stuff. Husband doesn’t eat gelatin, something to do with an aversion to eating boiled down hoofs, so unless I wake up craving it, Jello doesn’t happen in this house. Apparently, a post about geletina isn’t happpening either. Sorry, Jennifer, I tried. Now on to the subject ...
